I want your Vote to become a new MidCentral DHB Member on 9 October 2010.
I have served as a Trustee for the Horowhenua District Health Transportation Trust and member of the Joint Transport and Health sub−committee for 3 years.
As Community Development Worker and Community Board member, I have spent 3 years setting up a new Health Shuttle for Otaki.
I expect more accountantability from the Board and greater community, hapu and iwi partnership moving forward, and these competencies are needed to ensure that services at the Horowhenua Health Centre do not diminish.
I want to lower the second highest Do Not Attends in NZ and arrest the huge debt this Board has incurred through best practice governance, accountability skills and strategic leadership.
There are no surprises with me, my work ethic, integrity and spirit of community partnership is proven within the Horowhenua district and Otaki.
Conflict of Interest Statement
I have the following current conflicts of interest with the MidCentral District Health Board (DHB):
Elected Member of Otaki Community Board (Chairman)
Trustee of Otaki College Board
Otaki Ward Trustee for the Horowhenua District Health Transportation Trust
I was employed by the Otaki Women's Health Group as the Otaki Community Development Project Worker
My wife is currently employed by Otaki Women's Health Group
My wife is a member of the Integrated Family Health Care Centre (IFHC Collaborative Group) for Central PHO
My wife is a member of the Otaki IFHC
To the best of my knowledge and belief, I have no other conflicts of interest with the DHB at the date of my notice of consent to being nominated as a candidate for membership of the Board of the DHB.
I do not believe that any conflicts of interest are likely to arise in future, other than the continuation of the conflicts of interest stated above.
