The Boards which govern District Health Boards are elected/appointed for a three-year term.  The DHB elections were recently held in October 2007, and the next election will take place in 2010.

  • Election Timeline & General Information


    The membership of DHB Board is for a three-year term. DHB elections are held triennially, in association with the local government elections, to elect seven members. The Minister of Health then appoints up to a further four members.

  • Final Results


    The final results for the 2007 MidCentral DHB election were announced on 23 October 2007.

  • Nominations & Information for Candidates


    The nomination period for the 2007 DHB elections opened on 27 July 2007 and closed at 12 noon on 24 August 2007. Dates for the 2010 DHB elections will be known closer to the time.

  • Notice of Elections


    A formal notice of elections is issued by the DHB Electoral Officer when nominations for election open.

  • Voting Information


    The STV (single transferable voting system) is used for electing DHB board members.
